Exploring Pattern Through Illustration
Surface pattern design offered an opportunity to explore illustration beyond traditional compositions, experimenting with how original artwork could become part of everyday objects and environments.

This personal project grew from a curiosity about pattern, color and the possibilities of translating individual designs into decorative surfaces.
/
From Artwork to Pattern
The exploration began with developing original artwork and considering how each composition could function as a surface design.

Some designs lent themselves to repetition, while others worked better as standalone or larger-scale compositions.

The process allowed room to experiment with arrangement, scale and color while exploring how each design might translate across different surfaces.

Imagining the Application
As the collection of designs developed, I began exploring their potential within home textiles and other lifestyle products.

Bedding became one way to visualize how the artwork could translate from a digital composition into a functional, everyday setting.

Using product mockups, I explored how selected designs might appear on finished textiles, considering their scale, placement and overall visual impact.

Creative Possibilities
Although the work remained a personal exploration, it opened the possibility of developing a home textile or product collection in the future.

The project reflects my interest in extending illustration beyond its original format and exploring how artwork can become part of the spaces and objects people interact with every day.
